My plan to make Wandsworth safer, fairer and more affordable
No Heathrow expansion. Residents deserve clean air and as little noise pollution as possible. So I’ll oppose any plans to expand Heathrow.
Speed up the Northern Line extension into Battersea. Residents have been promised this for years. I’ll work with TfL to speed up the process.
Deliver a temporary bridge while Hammersmith Bridge is fixed. I worked with the government to secure funding for repairs. Now I’m keeping the pressure on for a temporary bridge. If Sadiq Khan hasn’t set one up by May, I’ll make it my priority to deliver one.
Cut knife and moped crime. With 8,000 more police for London and more investment in youth services to get young people out of gangs and into work.
Reopen Wandsworth police station. So residents can always speak to police when they need to.
Meet your local Conservative Candidate for the Greater London Assembly of Merton and Wandsworth
Your candidate for the GLA: Louise Calland
Introduction: The entire boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth are combined to create one constituency on the London Assembly. It is represented by one assembly member whose role it is to examine the Mayor’s actions and decisions and stand up for the residents they represent in City Hall. Louise Calland is the Conservative Candidate to represent Merton and Wandsworth in the GLA elections, which will now be held next May 2021 at the same time as the Mayoral election.
A bit about Louise: As a member of the 50:50 campaign, Louise is doing her bit to get equal representation for women in politics.
But that’s not her only passion. For the past few years, Louise has worked with residents across Merton and Wandsworth to improve local communities.
Campaigning to save Wimbledon Police Station. Supporting investment in St Heliers Hospital. And backing local businesses with a Shop Local campaign.
Louise wants to continue her work with every resident in every community. That’s why she’s standing to represent Merton and Wandsworth in the GLA.
With the support of residents, she’ll work to make our streets safer, deliver more investment to public services, and back small businesses.
London has a talented workforce, world-class businesses, top universities and a tech industry to rival Silicon Valley. The only thing we’re missing is leadership. That’s why I’m standing for Mayor.
